stone works of art and monuments
stoneCIRCLE works with artists helping them to produce their works in stone for public spaces, private collections and as monuments to commemorate important events and people both nationally and more locally.
works of art
Before modern technology, sculptors would get their apprentices to rough out the work, and then take over to finish the work. Now, our CNC equipped technology takes the place of the apprentice, using a file generated from a maquette or a 3D drawing supplied by the artist.
Other artists prefer to work with us on the sculpture supervising and changing how the work is shaped as it is created. Susanna Heron’s works are created in this way.
And others again provide us with drawings or original work and ask us to produce in them in stone.
stone monuments
The long lasting nature of stone makes it the natural choice for a monument that is to be a lasting memorial of an important event or person.
We have worked with associations, artists and commissioning bodies at both national and regional level on monuments as varied as the Normandy Campaign memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, the Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial in London, the Littlecote House War Memorial in Banbury, and Tom Phillips’ work honouring the English Martyrs in Westminster Cathedral.

Please do get in touch to discuss how we can help you realise your project, whether you are an artist wanting to make an artwork, or commissioning the production of a monument in stone.
