still life with stone vol.2
This series of images continues our tribute to the creative abilities and craftsmanship of humans working with the rich materials that Mother Nature provides.
Inspired by the rich seam of still life paintings, and using the most beautiful marbles, granites and other stones, both natural and composite which are our raw material, we have created a series of homages to art and artists.
Take a look at how the different colours, textures and patterns of stone influence the feel and mood of a setting, whether kitchen worktop, bathroom vanity, staircases or other interior space.
indulgent cocktail hour on marron emperador
There are few better ways to start an evening than with friends, a cocktail in hand and nibbles to share.
However, you may not be a professional bartender, so, here are a few tips to follow:
First, place a bowl of ice on the bar, perhaps in Marron Emperador Dark marble like this one.
Next, fill glasses with ice cubes and water to chill them while preparing the ingredients for your cocktails.
Then, play with jiggers, strainers, shakers and all the tools you have. Deploy your creativity.
Finally, toast life and get the party started!
sea breeze on moleanos
Moleanos limestone’s surface recalls sandy beaches where pebbles, seashells, coral branches, driftwood, and manmade objects create one part still life painting and one part dreamlike, surreal scene.
Walk barefoot on it, and this stone will exude warmth and the feeling of sand between your toes. Crystalline structures in varying shades of blue are interspersed with veins of pinkish stone.
The limestone's distinctive granular texture – smooth yet riddled with minor bumps and sometimes fossils – makes it ideal for exterior cladding or interior flooring.
stormy weather with breccia capraia
The incredibly varied textures of Breccia Capraia make this marble from Italy a unique decorative piece wherever it finds a home. With its array of rouge and china rose crystals polished smooth by running water, flowing veins of gold and silver, this stone piece seems to radiate a warm glow, even during stormy days. Its gorgeous rose colours add glamour and luxury to any room.
